As part of their learning about black history, Year 5 learned about Saint Hadrian, a monk who was born in North Africa, travelled to Italy as a refugee as a child and came to Britain in 667 where he was one of first leaders of the Anglo Saxon Christian church. We analysed a modern portrait of him and then looked at some different portraits of him before drawing our own.
